Karin Osler
Karin Osler is an experienced organisational psychologist, senior consultant, facilitator and executive coach. She is a co-founder of The Centre for Conscious Leadership, a consulting organisation specializing in leadership, learning and transformation at the level of individuals, teams and organisations.
Karin has worked both locally and overseas over the last 30 years advising a wide range of organisations in the areas of strategic planning, large scale culture change processes, Board and EXCO team alignment, and large group facilitation redesign processes. She has done extensive work developing public policy, designing and implementing culture change and organisational transformation processes, and facilitating customized strategic planning processes, dialogue and team building processes. Karin has also successfully partnered and coached CEO’s on effective turnarounds that have had significant bottom line impact, and has run projects with large consulting teams that have had a measurable impact on leadership, values and culture in organisations. She has worked with local and international Boards, CEO’s and EXCO teams facilitating strategic alignment sessions. In the current post COVID environment she has been involved in designing and facilitating bespoke interventions to ensure leaders and EXCO are aligned in the context of multiple stressors, possible dysfunctional team dynamics, leadership transition, change overload and performance pressure. Her passion, experience and training ensures that rational problem solving approaches are balanced by an understanding and focus on behaviours, often unconscious drivers and a depth approach that ensures that underlying dynamics that derail individuals, teams and organisations are taken into account. Her skill is creating psychological safety in senior teams so that they can unlock performance by having the real conversations that often go underground.
Prior to starting CCL she worked for 10 years at the Institute for Futures Research, Stellenbosch Business School, focussing on macro trends, futures research and systems thinking. She has also worked in the UK running a national facilitation network and doing accredited Myers Briggs Type Indicator training. Karin has lectured on MBA programmes at various business schools and universities, and has presented papers on organisational culture change at INSEAD University France. She remains committed to her own development through ongoing participation in local and international learning and development processes. Karin has had experience over a number of industries including banking, telecommunications, retail, mining and minerals, as well as public sector and nongovernmental organisations.
Karin has a Masters degree in Leadership, Coaching and Change from INSEAD Business School in France. She also holds a Masters degree (cum laude) and an Honours degree (cum laude) in Organisational Psychology from the University of Cape Town.
